Your data
Delete your account
You can delete your Circlio account and personal data at any time, from the app or by emailing us.
Last updated 1 October 2026
Delete in the app
- Open Circlio and go to Settings → Privacy.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
- Confirm it is you: enter your password, or, if you signed up with Google, tap Confirm with Google and choose the same Google account.
You are signed out straight away and your account is scheduled for deletion.
Delete by email
Can’t open the app, or lost access to it? Email info@circlio.social from the email address registered on your account, with the subject “Delete my Circlio account”. We may ask you to confirm it is you before we go ahead. We will reply to confirm the request and start the deletion.
What happens next
- Immediately: your account is closed, you are signed out on all devices, and you no longer appear in search or on the map.
- Within 30 days: we erase or de-identify your personal details (name, email address, date of birth, bio, location and interests). We also delete your profile photos, stories and the media you uploaded for circles and events, your identity verification data at our verification provider, your messages, your notifications and devices, your blocks and connection requests, and we remove you from circles, events and chats.
- Afterwards: the records described below are kept only for the periods shown, and are not linked to your name.
Deleting your account cannot be undone. If you ask to delete by mistake, email us as soon as possible and we will try to stop it before the 30 days are up.
What we keep, and for how long
- Safety and compliance records (for example, records of reports and moderation actions) are held for up to 180 days after your personal details are erased, as required under Indian IT rules, and are then deleted.
- Payment, refund and invoice records for any ticket or subscription purchases are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- An anonymised account record (no name, email, date of birth, photo or location) stays in our systems so that the records we must keep remain consistent.
- Posts and comments you published in circles and events stay visible to those communities, shown as coming from a deleted user. Photos or files you sent in chats become inaccessible once the message that carried them is deleted.
More detail is in our Privacy Policy. For any question about your data, write to info@circlio.social.
