Circlio legal
Terms & Conditions
The rules for using Circlio, meeting people through it, and helping keep every neighbourhood space safe.
The agreement
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and ADHUNIK LABS PRIVATE LIMITED, the company that operates Circlio (“Circlio”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). They apply to our website, mobile app, communications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By downloading, accessing, creating an account for, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, our Community Guidelines, and any additional terms shown before you use a particular feature. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
These Terms are an electronic record under applicable Indian law and do not require a physical signature.
Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
- You must provide accurate, current information and keep your account secure. Do not share, sell, transfer, or create accounts for another person.
- Circlio may require email or phone verification and identity verification to protect the community. Verification is handled through the process we present in the app; you must complete it truthfully and only with your own documents and likeness.
- You may not use Circlio if you have previously been permanently removed from it, are prohibited by law from using it, or use it for a business purpose without our written approval.
You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at info@circlio.social if you believe it has been accessed without permission.
Community rules
Circlio is built for real, respectful local connection. You must follow our Community Guidelines and all applicable law. In particular, do not:
- impersonate anyone, provide false verification information, or misrepresent an event, circle, person, or business;
- threaten, harass, stalk, bully, discriminate against, exploit, or endanger another person;
- post or send illegal, sexually exploitative, hateful, violent, fraudulent, deceptive, spam, or infringing material;
- collect, sell, scrape, expose, or misuse another person's personal data, location, identity information, messages, or contact details;
- use the Services to solicit money, run a scam, distribute malware, interfere with the Services, or bypass security or access controls; or
- use automated systems to access or extract data from the Services without our written permission.
Your content
You retain ownership of the content you create or share through Circlio, including your profile, posts, comments, messages, photos, circle information, and event information (“Your Content”). You are responsible for it and confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to share it.
To operate, secure, improve, and display the Services, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, distribute, and use Your Content. This licence lasts only for as long as needed to run the Services, subject to reasonable backups, legal obligations, and content already shared with other members or organisers.
Do not share another person's private or confidential information without their permission. Content or information visible in a public or shared circle, event, or profile may be seen by other members. Use the privacy controls in the app and think carefully before posting.
Circles, events & offline safety
Circlio helps members discover and organise local circles and events. Unless we clearly say otherwise, an event organiser is responsible for the event itself: its description, venue, permissions, accessibility, safety arrangements, compliance with law, and any promises made to attendees.
Offline interactions are voluntary and happen at your own judgment and risk. Circlio does not conduct background checks beyond the verification features we expressly provide, and we do not guarantee any member's identity, conduct, intentions, or safety. Meet in public places, use good judgment, and call local emergency services if you are in immediate danger.
Hosts and organisers must provide accurate event details, comply with venue and legal requirements, and not create events that are unsafe, misleading, discriminatory, unlawful, or inconsistent with our Community Guidelines. We may remove or restrict events and circles at any time.
Payments & subscriptions
Some features, communities, or events may be paid. Before checkout, we will show the price, applicable taxes, renewal details where relevant, and the refund or cancellation terms that apply. Event organisers may set a disclosed cancellation policy, subject to applicable law and Circlio's platform rules.
Payments may be processed by Razorpay for web and eligible event transactions, Apple for iOS in-app purchases, or Google for Android purchases. Their terms and policies apply to the payment they process. We do not receive or store your full card credentials.
Store purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and cancellations can be subject to the rules of the relevant payment provider. Our Cancellation & Refunds policy explains the current Circlio process. Nothing in these Terms limits a refund or consumer right that cannot lawfully be limited.
Reports & enforcement
You can report content, conduct, accounts, circles, or events through the app. We may use trained reviewers and automated tools to investigate reports and enforce our rules. We may remove content, restrict features, pause an event or circle, suspend or terminate an account, preserve records, or refer matters to appropriate authorities when we reasonably believe this is necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, or enforcement.
If you believe we made a mistake, contact our Grievance Officer using the details below. We will handle complaints through the process described on our Grievance Officer page.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Services are provided on an “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that the Services will always be safe, uninterrupted, error-free, available in every location, or suitable for every purpose. We do not endorse or guarantee user content, organisers, attendees, events, or third-party services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Circlio and its directors, officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, or for losses arising from offline interactions, user conduct, or third-party services. Our total liability for a claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Circlio for the affected paid Service in the 12 months before the claim or INR 1,000.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited. You agree to indemnify Circlio against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use of the Services, breach of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights.
Changes, law & contact
We may update these Terms when our Services, legal obligations, or safety practices change. We will post the revised Terms and update the date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice where reasonably practicable. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, courts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Services.
